Aulos, Tibia, and the Music of Ancient Greece and Rome
As a performer, composer & scholar of the music of the ancient world, Enoch specializes in playing the Roman tibia and Greek aulos, a style of double-pipe wind instrument from Classical Antiquity.
He recently composed and performed all of the music for a new Latin play, “Adelphae,” which had its world premiere at the 2026 THALIA festival in Braga, Portugal, and his recent article “Revisiting the Thetic Approach to Ancient Greek Harmonics”—published in the journal Greek & Roman Musical Studies—has enhanced our understanding of modality in ancient Greek music.
